The Wolves Former Players Association (WFPA) has unveiled a refreshed brand identity and website, marking an exciting new chapter for one of the city’s most respected football organisations.

Developed in partnership with Wolverhampton-based creative agency Sodium & Co, the project introduces a refined logo, a modern visual identity and an updated website that better reflects the Association’s proud history while equipping it for the future.

Since its formation in 1988, the Wolves Former Players Association has brought together former Wolverhampton Wanderers players from across the generations. The Association supports former players and their families, organises reunions and events, celebrates the club’s rich heritage and raises funds for charitable causes throughout the local community.

As the organisation has grown, it recognised the need for a more consistent and contemporary brand that could better communicate its purpose and engage supporters across both digital and printed channels.

Rather than reinventing the Association’s identity, the project focused on strengthening what already existed. Sodium & Co refreshed the Association’s logo, developed a cohesive suite of brand graphics and created a visual identity that can be used consistently across events, publications, merchandise and online communications.

Alongside the brand refresh, the Association has launched a redesigned website, making it easier to celebrate former players, keep up with ongoing events and learn more about the important work it continues to carry out.

Chris Green, Creative Director at Sodium & Co, said:  “It has been a privilege to work with the Wolves Former Players to help them clearly communicate the incredible work they do — not just for the former players, but for the city of Wolverhampton itself.

“Our aim wasn’t to change who they are, but to create a brand that honours their heritage while giving them the confidence and flexibility to share their story for years to come.”

John Richards, former Wolves striker and Chairman of the FPA, added:  “We have really enjoyed working with Chris and Sodium & Co team to refresh the brand and website of the Former Players’ Association.

“We are continuing to grow as an organisation, both in terms of the help delivered to former players but also by developing partnerships which ensure we can support so many local charities and community groups.

“To do that we need to be able to provide information and tell our stories in a clear and attractive way, and working with Chris on refreshing our identity has been a major positive in that regard.”

The refreshed identity and website provide a strong platform for the Association’s continued work, ensuring the stories, achievements and legacy of former Wolves players can continue to inspire future generations of supporters.
