Wolves’ record appearance maker Derek Parkin has been welcomed back to the club’s Museum to view a new tribute created to celebrate his impact.

Parkin made 609 appearances for Wolves between 1968 and 1982, and was among the first batch of legends inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame back in 2009.

A new tribute has now been created in the club’s Museum and Parkin and Wolves Former Players’ Association administration manager Richard Green were invited to take a look.

“It was a privilege for me to accompany Derek to Wolves Museum, at the invitation of club historian Peter Crump, to view the new display marking his incredible contribution to Wolves,” said Green.

“It’s a really great tribute to the impact he made to the club over so many years, and that appearance record he holds which is unlikely ever to be beaten.

“As a Former Players’ Association, we continue to enjoy working closely with the Museum and Wolves as a whole to highlight the achievements of those who have made such a significant contribution to the club’s history.”

Parkin also spent several years on the committee of the FPA, an organisation which both supports former players and holds events to raise money to make donations to local charities.
