Participants at the Crafty Gardener project based in Whitmore Reans now have some new comfortable chairs to relax in, thanks to a donation from Wolves Former Players’ Association.
Crafty Gardener CIC provides a range of group activities for vulnerable adults from its site in Whitmore Reans and allotment in Warstones, including gardening, crafts, cookery, music, enterprise and many other activities.
These opportunities help those attending with their skills development as well as health and employment- related support.
Wolves FPA first linked up with the Crafty Gardener last year, donating a defibrillator, and have now followed up with the chairs which are now already being put to good use at the Centre, situated not too far from Molineux.
“The Crafty Gardener is such a fantastic not-for-profit organisation doing some brilliant work and we love our visits there to meet all the participants, who give us such a warm welcome,” says John Richards, Chairman of Wolves FPA.
“We are delighted to be able to support them once again, and hope they continue to go from strength to strength playing such a positive role in the life of the community.”

Wolves FPA Administration manager Richard Green joined club legends Steve Daley (FPA Vice-Chairman) and Geoff Palmer (FPA committee member) in visiting the Crafty Gardener to see the benefits of the donation and have a great time with the group.
“It was another great visit, and Steve and Geoff were serenaded with a wide range of Wolves songs finishing with ‘Hi Ho, Wolverhampton’,” said Richard.
“We were also treated to some delicious cakes which had been prepared specially for the visit.

“It’s a real privilege to be involved with the Crafty Gardener and help support them as they continue to grow the facility in Whitmore Reans.”
Crafty Gardener director Sally Hinton added: “The new chairs are a fabulous new resource for our members and have helped to make our social space much more comfortable and vibrant.
“We love the visits from the former players and thoroughly enjoyed singing some of the classics to our Wolves heroes!
“Steve and Geoff spent time with our members, signing programmes and Wolves shirts which made everyone’s day.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to the former players for all of their support, it means a huge amount to us, and we look forward to more visits in the future.”
