There was such a sad start to 2026 for all connected with Wolves’ Former Players’ Association with the sad loss of Terry Wharton, at the age of 83, after a short illness.
The wing wizard Wharton, who excelled across many years spent at Molineux during his playing career in the 1960s, went on to become one of the huge characters at former player gatherings, building. brilliant friendships not just with his ex team-mates but younger former players who loved being in his company.
As shown by this selection of pictures from events in recent years, including the annual dinners, social lunches at the Fox at Shipley and golf days at Oxley Park, many of which were taken by Dave Bagnall, there was rarely a dull moment when Terry Wharton was around.
