Wolves Former Players’ Association have made a donation to Compton Care which includes the purchase of two laptops and three screens to help staff continue to raise vital funds for the charity.
Compton Care is one of several local charities which have been supported by Wolves FPA in recent years, with donations funding equipment including nebulisers, a syringe driver, IV pump, blankets for the inpatient unit and arts and crafts equipment for use in art therapy.
This latest donation will fund the laptops to help staff continue to raise funds to ensure the charity is able to deliver its range of services for the community, notably providing specialist care and support for families living with life limiting conditions.
Compton Care also runs weekly Living Well sessions giving patients the practical and emotional tools to continue to live activity and independently with their conditions, at which former Wolves players are regular visitors to meet participants and chat through footballing memories.

At the latest one of those sessions, Wolves heroes FPA Vice-Chairman Steve Daley and committee member Phil Parkes, and administration manager Richard Green, met outpatients and also officially handed over the equipment which the FPA donation has funded, thanks to money raised at the Annual Golf Day.
“In the last few years, we have really stepped up our support of local charities and community groups, building positive relationships with organisations like Compton Care,” said Richard.
“We know just how important Compton Care is with the invaluable services they provide to the community, particularly supporting people when they are going through some very difficult times, and are always pleased to be able to provide donations when we can.
“The Living Well sessions are another of the many important initiatives which the charity delivers – it is such a positive and enthusiastic group which the former players love to play a part in.
“It was a pleasure and a privilege to attend their latest session, and officially hand over the equipment which we hope will have a beneficial impact on the work of Compton Care.”

Kate Kelly, Relationship Manager at Compton Care, said the charity is “extremely grateful” to Wolves FPA for their donation of equipment.
“The two brand-new laptops and three screens will be utilised by new volunteers within our fundraising team to support with the administration of our donor records.
“The support of volunteers is vital, especially in providing administration support as this ensures that our fundraisers can concentrate on fundraising!
“As an organisation, we need to raise £14.5million this year to support all of our extended services, which means that we rely heavily on voluntary donations to support our work.
“The continued support of the Wolves Former Players Association means a great deal to us here at Compton, we would like to thank everyone involved for choosing to support us once again.”
